It will transfer the coin from your inventory to the online cache listing. To log your journey on the webpage and grab the geocoin, the first thing to do is locate its tracking number. You can also visit the help center of the “Geocaching.com” website to locate manufacturers. As your coin appears in the geocoin listing, you must write to the owner that you found it. By logging in and activating the coin, you officially remove it from the owner’s cache and move it to a new one. Once you grab the coin, it remains in your inventory as long as another cacher or hunter picks it up and stores it in another cache. Buying your first coin can seem overwhelming.

Feel free to help keep it updated as new coins are made. Finding a cache is a fun challenge with the correct equipment. I have thought about hosting a group that does something similar. I may pick a Saturday and do a 12 hours 24 photos. Take a picture every half hour for 12 hours.

How to Fake GPS to Find a Geocoin Without Walking?

The geocacher signs the log with their established code name and dates it, in order to prove that they found the cache. After signing the log, the cache must be what is a geocoin placed back exactly where the person found it. Larger containers such as plastic storage containers  or ammunition boxes can also contain items for trading, such as toys or trinkets. A Travel Bug is a dog tag used in Geocaching. Some tags are fastened to an object, known as a “hitchhiker”, before they are released into a cache.

Finding a coin in a geocache does not mean that it is a geocoins. Some people release non-trackable coins for travel. If you find a coin you should try to identify if it is trackable. Some coins will travel in some kind of pouch with a piece of paper explaining that it is a geocoin.

But, since then, I’ve realized that many people might not actually know the difference between a trackable geocoin and one that you collect. To visit them, you can either visit the cache page where you found the coin and access the inventory list or visit the Geocoin page and use the search tool. There, enter the tracking ID printed on the supplied box and press the search button. Now that you have the number write it down before trading it with your friend or dropping it off in a cache.

If the Geocoin has a goal, please try to follow the goal as best you can. If the goal is to move the Geocoin to the west coast, don’t put it in a cache further to the east.
